The Race Against Time
– A Battlefield Tour Like No Other!-
Join us on an unforgettable journey through the heart of the Ardennes, where history comes alive in the most dramatic landscapes of the Battle of the Bulge. This isn’t just a tour—it’s a thrilling dive into the past, full of heroism, strategy, and human stories that shaped the course of World War II.
Bob will lead you through an action-packed day, packed with legendary locations and untold tales.
Our tour starts in Grandmenil, where you’ll visit Trou du Loup, the site where a single bazooka shot halted the infamous 2nd SS “Das Reich” Division in its tracks. Nearby, we’ll stop at the iconic Panther tank of Grandmenil, frozen in time.
Next up is the quiet village of Bra, once a temporary base for General James Gavin, followed by one of the tour’s giants—La Gleize, home to the awe-inspiring King Tiger tank abandoned on Christmas Eve, 1944.
From there, we head to Malmedy, a stunning town steeped in history, and then to the chilling crossroads of Baugnez, site of the infamous Malmedy massacre.
The tour continues to the beautiful villages of Bütgenbach and Büllingen, where fierce battles were fought by the 99th and 1st Infantry Divisions.
Have your passport ready—we’re crossing into Germany to see the haunting Dragon’s Teeth, the Nazi anti-tank defenses that still stand today.
Back across the border, we’ll visit Lanzerath, where Lieutenant Lyle Bouck and his platoon made a legendary stand—earning the title of the most decorated I&R platoon of World War II.
Then it’s on to the twin villages of Krinkelt-Rocherath, Wereth, and the pivotal town of Sankt Vith, the linchpin of the German offensive.
Time permitting, we’ll hear the gripping story of Signal Corps photographer Hugh McHugh in Wallerode, before swinging past the iconic crossroads at Poteau and heading toward Vielsalm.
In Grand Sart, we climb Thier du Mont, where Bob brings to life the incredible battle of 7 January 1945. Here, General Gavin once called the stand of the 508th Parachute Infantry Battalion one of the most remarkable victories of the Battle of the Bulge.
Finally, we reach our summit: Baraque de Fraiture, better known as Parker’s Crossroads—the scene of brutal fighting between only 350 men against the elite Das Reich Division.
